We had a wonderful season at Detrongate last year so much so we have re-booked for this year. The weather last summer was, to say the very least, awful but that did not stop us having practically every weekend and a ten day holiday at our caravan. The site is extremely well run and the facilities regularly checked and cleaned. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful at all times. We cannot wait for March 1st to return and hope that the weather will be kinder to us this year.

My family have been using this site nearly every weekend during the season for years and have always enjoyed the community atmosphere created by the previous owner. This is our first visit this year under the new owners and it will be our last. The new owners have surrounded the touring caravans with tents which are so close together, we struggled to park our car next to our caravan. On complaining, we were told that they need to pitch this amount of tents tomake money! What a shame to have spoilt such a lovely site due to pure greed. There is no customer service any more - once you have paid your money they dont seem too bothered.

i have been coming to this site since i was a small child, and i am 40 next year. it is my bolthole from routine of every day life and work, the kids love it and the setting is beautiful. even the railway that runs by the site is somehow picturesque and atmospheric. the owners are so friendly and check all is well throughout the day and evening by driving around and this makes you feel safe and secure. we park up, tent up,kettle on, and all is well with the world! simply the best.

me and my partner have been visting the campsite for over ten years . Its clean and very family friendly they have a little park , swings, see-saw and a sand pit. There is a little shop on site which sells the morning paper, milk eggs etc also kites for the children . Also easy walking to the beach and to the canal 5 mins drive to morecambe and 2 mins from carnforth which has every shop you require . The price is very good per night the owner is great and is very helpful. I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE TO VIST FOR A WEEKEND TENT OR CARAVAN ....................
AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK

We camped here for a long weekend. The owner was very friendly and regularly drove round checking that all was well. The toilet block assigned to campers was ok, with seperate sinks partitioned off. They were kept clean and fairly spider/insect free! The downside was that the washing up area and washing machines were in the ladies toilets. However I don't believe this was the case for the other toilet block. A pleasant and cheap stay.
