This is great campsite. We have been coming here as a family for the past 5 yrs, with numerous visits. I have 3 children - 10yrs 18 yrs and 21. We have friends that have joined us whilst we are camping, and all have had a great time. The views are stunning (the sunsets to die for)The peace and quiet is very relaxing. My son loves the fact that it really feels like we are in the countryside, but have a constant view of the sea. Wait til it goes dark and you'll be amazed at the stars!!!! Practical housekeeping..... lovely hot showers (free) clean loos, washing up room, with washing machine, freezer and microwave (very handy) There are so many places to visit, just a short drive away ( not just the beaches) Tamar Lakes is a great place to visit, especially with various ages of children/teenagers in tow, with sailing, kayaking available at a very reasonable price. Bridgerule itself has a brilliant postoffice and shop - small but very well stocked.... and walkable. I'd highly recommend Highfield House Campsite.

Not a bad site...but it could be much better. Rates were about on par for the facilities on offer, though they did have a problem with the hot water so the showers were cold when we used them. Other than that the facilities were clean and in good working order and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The views were very nice indeed! Unfortunately we did have a major problem with large group of pre-teen children riding bikes recklessly and unsupervised on the site during the day and into the evening. They caused a small amount of damage to our tents and equipment and nearly caused an injury to our two-year old son....it was worrying that it was alleged by some those children we challenged about the damage that one of the children was a child of the site owners! The lighting on site could do with a little improvement on the bottom field, but it was fine elsewhere on site. These complaints may be small-fry but they are enough to make us think twice about coming again next month. Regrettably we did not have the time or the opportunity to discuss these issues with the owners in person.

Great Site. Brilliant views, excellent facilities, friendly and very helpful owners, reasonable rates, we are returning this year for our third holiday there, I highly recommend this site which also has a one de-luxe six berth caravan to let and a self-contained cottage on the site.
