Great Beer and great surroundings. However, the landlord and his wife have have got no idea what customer service is. Ordered a coke for my son and asking to transfer it to a smaller glass seemed to cause a major issue. I was told that I hadn't asked for that. I was asked what was the problem and was made to feel very uncomfortable when the landlord called across to someone else whether they wanted a coke and when they said yes he said to the bar full of locals "well at least we got that right". Very weird - customer service from the 1960's. If humiliation is your bag then drop in for a beer and some unwelcome sarcasm. Second thoughts don't bother, people like that deserve to go out of business.

Rang 10.48am to ask what was on lunchtime menu as I don't eat many things ,was told she didn't know as she was in the bedroom, so 40 minutes later rang again and was told she was in the kitchen so I would need to go and read menu board-------WONDERFUL way to inspire confidence, are they offering a service OR do I have to beg ? Neddless to say we didn't bother and never will ; went to The Manor instead and had a lovely lunch.

Very poor service - kept waiting for an hour for 3 meals and told at the last minute that one was off so third person had to have a cold lunch. Plates were cold and no-one bothered to keep us informed of the delay and the reason for it. Accept a wait would be acceptable in busy times - but over an hour on a Saturday lunchtime in February!
