Popped in there for a quite evening drink and considering having a meal. Two very loud women, one was very drunk and Very noisy. Shame as it could have been rather an enjoyable evening. Wine very over priced. Large glass of house wine (large to them is a 175) was £3.60, also the meals seemed rather pricey, so we decided not to eat! Several nice country pubs around the area however, so next time on a sunny saturday evening we will be trying one of the them!

Visited this quaint inn and decided to have lunch. Very pretty place, nice atmosphere, food selection was great from traditional to Gastro, even on the veggie side of things, instead of veg lasagne (which is the norm when eating out), there was, mushroom pasta, veg curry (which was hot), veggie tart or numerous salads to choose from. Good choice of starters, main course and desert. Could not fault it. Price was reasonable with an excellent choice of local ale (should you drink ale) and wines. Will visit again and soon.

Five of us had sunday lunch. two had roast beef - very good - not overcooked, nice and rare, one had lamb in red wine - very good, one had beef nog and dumpling again pronounced very good and one had tagliatelli verdi - again good. A very good choice of beers from the barrel and wine by the glass. Puds are good as well. We thought prices very fair for the quality of food and service. Anyone who gives 1/2 out of ten for this pub is obviously not a connoisseur of real ale. The beer alone is worth 10/10 never mind the food. There is only one snag. Try and NOT be the driver if you like beer because there is a great temptation to just have one more pint !

I was there on Sunday for lunch, we were the only people in the restaurant and that should have given it away. Food was very over priced, limited selection. Duck was fatty, tuna steak burnt (how can you burn fish?) poor choice of vegetables ie cabbage white and red. Landlord was very unhelpful and rude. Note no locals eat there. Living off Pub of the Year awarded in 2002, they will never get it this year. I understand however the local ales are very good. Drive to get there was very pretty with lovely villages such as Witnesham, Tuddenham and Westerfield.
