I booked a family of 4 for dinner last night as an 18th birthday celebration for my daughter. The evening was a complete disaster as the food and service were awful. I have contacted AA, Michelin and written several reviews on several Internet websites stating our experience.
Teenage staff were unkempt and unattentive.
4 items from the menu were unavailable.
Prawn cocktail was actually seafood cocktail, half frozen, full of grit and drowned in sauce.
Walnut tart was dry and had a thick pastry crust.
Livers were underseasoned.
Rack of Lamb ( or rather cheap chop cuts ) was soft, appeared microwaved, fatty and covered in a Paxo style mush far from the advertised crust.
Chiken and avocado tower was more like a fancy filo top covering a cheap supreme like pie filling minus much chicken and avocado.
Rostis and the like were tastless, soft mush surrounded by lashings of Oxo like gravy.
All brought to the attention of the waiter, who shrugged his shoulders and was not seen again all evening.
A dreadful, expensive evening.
We will not be revisiting and will ensure all our family friends and colleagues hear of our experience.
