Formerly an excellent pub with a reputation for good food.
I think it is presently in the care of relief staff.
My wife and I had French Onion soup. Seemed like under cooked onions in a packet mix wih large quantity of added pepper. Teenage son had breaded garlic mushrooms - almost certainly straight out of the freezer. Final option was melon.
My first 2 choices of main course were not available, so I settled for spag bol! - No freshly ground pepper available. Wife had a gammon which looked a little tired. Son had scampi and chips. Chip oil had seen better days.
The pubs smoking policy seemed to be on hold.
Not worth a return visit.
