My wife and I enjoyed a very good lunch after a relaxing walk in the surrounding countryside. This is an excellent spot for a lunch or evening excursion accompanied by good for and pleasant surroundings.

Hi Just wanted to let everyone know that the Strawbury Duck is reopening in June 2010 after a full refurbishment and under new management. We will once again be serving good food and real ale in this beautiful location. Please come and join us and see for yourself!

unfortunately this pub is going through a really turbulent time with the constant changes in management. when it is open the staff are great the food is consistent but the place really needs a face lift. with the promise of new landlady on the horizon i hope that a cleaner brighter future is returning to what was a superb pub if not our nightly visits will be on hold. heres hoping.

We discovered this pub as you can see last year, I visited it twice. The first time we went it was a free house with moorhouses beers on, and the food looked great, and was really busy. The second time was early august, and to our horror it was now a cains pub, it had quietened down considerably as we got in the car park, the menu certainly didn't look as varied and by it's quietness obviously had declined in quality. We normally include a curry in our nights out so I can't really comment on the food, only by observation. Pub is well worth a visit just for it's location ( we live in West Yorkshire ). If you want a decent curry afterwards then i can really recommend the Green Bengal absolutely fantastic food ( I think it's in Turton Village ).

we were hopeful of nice meal in a lovely pub on a special occasion, however this was not the case. the food was over cooked, tasteless and cold. the portions were small and the main ingredient in the veg lasagne was missing.nobody asked us if the meal was ok, so we never got the chance to tell them. we did save some money however, as we drove to the nearest supermarket to buy our pudding !

I want to thank all at The Strawberry Duck for making my mum's 50th birthday celebration so special. The food was outstanding and service was efficient and unintrusive. Everyone was impressed by their meals, the warm welcome and friendly staff. It's the best meal out we've had in memory. We will definitely be returning again and would recommend to all. In fact, one of the party has already re-booked for mothers day next week!!
