This is the first time that my wife and I have eaten at The Gamekeeper. The two friends with us had been previously. - WOW! What a splendid meal we all had having selected various different dishes. An attractive Pub which is clean and also has good beer. We shall visit here again and take some other friends with us. Thank you Landlord.

My husband and I visited this establishment at the end of July this year for lunch. The pub is in a lovely position, beautifully kept and the staff very friendly. If you want a more substantial meal at lunch time you can expect to pay in the region of £10-20 for a main course, and I have to say that looking at other diners I would not say they had a generous portion. There was nothing on this menu that appealed to us, and indeed we certainly were not prepared to pay such a high price for a lunch menu. We decided to opt for what was described at the 'lighter menu' I choose a greek salad, which I believe was just under £10 and my husband, chicken on skewers with a sauce. They were both incredibly disappointing. A Greek salad is a simple dish, all mine contained was a few lettice leaves, a few minute squares of Feta cheese, (I did ask for the olives to be omitted) and a tiny bit of cucumber, barely any olive oil, and no french bread or equivalent as would normally be expected. My husband was just served his chicken skewers with only a drop of sauce which made them very dry and a minute bit of salad on the side, I don't know about a 'lighter menu' a young child would have moaned at the portion size. All in all a very disappointing and over priced lunch, not to be repeated. If you like good food, and value for money this is not the place for you.
