Best pub we have found on the Isle of Purbeck. Good honest pub food in a traditionally well furnished Purbeck Stone pub. Choice of snacks (e.g. ploughmans) or proper main dishes. Huge choice written up on large blackboard. Fish, meat and vegetarian choices. Better than average pub food - but not pretending to be a gastro pub either!. Last time we went they were just about to close (think it was 3pm), but more than happy to stay open (as they had just let another family in anyway) and didn't rush or pressurise us to leave. We have always had good food here. Can get very busy so best to book at holiday times and perhaps also weekends. We have tried several other places in the area, but always end up back here. Not that cheap, but we are happy to pay for the quality offered. In any case you can just have a snack if you want a light lunch.
