We spent a fabulous week in the Dartmouth area and were fortunate enough to spend time at The Hunters Lodge in Cornworthy,at different times during our stay. The food is all freshly home-cooked (the steaks and cottage pie are highly recommended!), generous portions and good value-for-money (we noticed real ales on tap too). Bridgette and Andy make you feel very welcome and obviously work hard at keeping a good pub. We wish them all the best and look forward to our next visit.

Love the Hunters Lodge. We've been several times for food and always found it excellent. It's a small village pub with a lovely cosy atmosphere. There is a small pub menu and a good specials board. All homecooked and delicious with generous portions. Landlord very friendly. Love that it welcomes walkers (not unusual to see folks walking around in their socks having left muddy boots at the door) and dogs.
We'll keep going back!

Regarding review of pub on 28th January 2008 - However, facts are wrong, we are not on the Dart, we are a village pub, and no way can 50 cars park outside the Maltsters they have a smaller car park out front than we do!Our records show a 2person and 3 person for food that day.

We had a four course valentines meal for only £18.00 each.
Beautifully cooked food, good choice of menu, fresh ingredients, huge portions! Lovely warm atmosphere.
Would recommend to anyone.

At 1:30 myself and two children were the only customers in the pub. The tables were sticky. Three staff members appeared to be doing nothing but chatting. The bill for 2 beers, a baguette, a plate of two sausages and chips and a couple of ice creams and soft drinks was about £27.
The Malster's, just up the road, had about 50 cars outside and was doing a roaring trade as indeed all pubs should along the Dart on a Saturday.

Fantastic pub and restaurant that we (and our dog, Honey) couldn't keep away from.
The food was fresh local and delicious (go for the mackeral - caught that day!) and the atmosphere perfect for a drinking and banter session on a Saturday night AND recovering over a mass of delicious roast beef on a Sunday afternoon.
