I have visited the EWM shop in Richmond on several occasions, what lovely friendly staff there are there, a real credit and such a refreshing change in today's day and age. The staff are always ready to greet you and offer assistance, it's a real pleasure to go into the shop.

We actually had our wedding reception here. 5 weeks before the actual day, the reception venue we had booked cancelled on us and had to desperately find somewhere else who could host it. I believe that the owners did do some outside catering, but hadn't hosted a wedding reception before (we were their first - and I understand they haven't looked back since). I have to say that they stepped into the breach valiantly, we had a couple of meetings whereby we thrashed out the menu and winelist - which wasn't exactly run of the mill as my (now) husband is vegan, we had a couple of veggies and a pescatarian! (Plus my family are all avid meat eaters). However, on the day, the food was absolutely excellent - every one of our guests commented on how good it was - the venue was looked extremely lovely and they were absolutely fabulous hosts who looked after us above and beyond. My husband and I stayed in one of their hotel rooms that night, which was clean, comfortable and well appointed - it also had a lovely view over beautiful Cheshire countryside and we started our first married day with an outstanding fry up (they dealt brilliantly with a vegan fry up for my husband) All in all, I would give the Swan at Wybunbury 11/10. Absolutely fantastic! (And on a separate note, various of our wedding guests have been back since because of the quality of the food and are still raving about it now!!)

i was a kp (pot washer) there and unfortionatly got sacked for reasons i am unsure of at this point.. but my time there was absolutely amazing, i know pot washing may not seem such a glamorous job but the people who work there create such an amazing environment that makes you feel so comfortable and welcome.. i have been "behind the scenes" and seen how all the food is made and it is done to the highest standard! though if something is wrong with the food they are happy to take the criticism and offer you a free drink! i really do miss the place and am upset that i didnt get to say goodbye properly to my friends that work there, daniel arrowsmith x x

I understand that this pub was taken over in July 07. I have visited this pub on a number of occasions over the last year. I was pleasantly surprise to find that the menu has now been updated and the daily specials are just that, changed daily and special. The standard of the food was extremely high as was the service. It is a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, nothing appears to be too much trouble and the landlord and landlady where both there. The handbattered fish and chips and the homemade quiche are a must.

We had quite the opposite experience of Nigel when we visited The Swan last night. We were a party of six celebrating a birthday and the atmosphere was great, the service was excellent, and food was at an extremely high standard. Highly recommended.

Having visited the pub and enjoyed the great food several times in the past we were disapointed to learn that the pub had changed hands. The service was very poor and the food was as best average compared to some of the other local places.
