Further to the letter by Mrs Jan Smith(no relation)my wife & I visited this store today. My wife is a newly user of a wheelchair and needed to use the disabled toilet only to discover it was out of order. Sometimes things don't change very quickly. Perhaps Sir Stuart Rose should look into the simple things that customers expect from a established company.

Yesterday we took my elderly mother and mother in law on a shopping trip to Milton Keynes. They hadn't been for years and especially wanted to visit M&S. Whilst in the store, they needed to visit the toilet and we were horrified at the state of these. My mother is in a wheelchair so obviously we headed for the disabled toilet which was in such a state it was unusable. The toilet was blocked and full of paper - I tried to flush it but there was no water. We had to get my mother out of the wheelchair, on to her walking stick and queue up in the ladies' toilet. There was a very long wait and again I was ashamed to take her in there. Some of these toilets were also blocked and the rest in a very poor state. There were many complaints going on inside and we heard a lady complaining to staff. We just wanted to get out - as I say I felt ashamed to take her in there. My husband and I visit Milton Keynes frequently and in the centre itself the toilets are always immaculate. I'm really surprised M&S don't do something to address this problem. Unfortunately Mum and Mum in law weren't especially impressed with the store in general and the toilets have ensured they will not visit again, but will stick to BHS! Your comments would be appreciated. Mrs Jan Smith
