We were visiting from Australia, and Scotland being our favourite place to visit, we went to St Andrews, which was fabulous, then our host at our B&B mentioned the Markinch Highland Games, we didn't have a GPS but managed to find it, parked across the road, and had the best time, loved the bagpipes and friendly people, it made our holiday going to a traditional highland games, also went to Cowdenbeath. We are planning our next trip and plan to stay longer in Scotland.

We live near Kinross so not very far away but it took us a long time to find the event. We only heard about it by word of mouth and when we got to Markinch we did not see one sign for the Highland Games. When we did get to the carpark again there were no signs and we did a nice wee tour of some forest tracks before eventually finding a parking space - and again no signs but our ears were working! Thinking about taking some Dutch friends later on today - if we can remember where to go. I don't remember there being catering facilities but I am sure there must have been somewhere for some older quiet folk to sit down and have tea and scones? However the range of events and quality of the performers were absolutely stunning and I hope that it will be inspiring for our own young piper and drummer and a positive representation of Scotland for our visitors. You have a great event - market it and swell your coffers!
