Myself and my family have just returned from a fantastic weekend camping at Park Foot over the bank holiday weekend. On arrival the site and reception was very busy but we got checked in quickly and the staff on reception were very helpful giving us a map and directing us to the field we were booked into as well as pointing out where all the amenities and facilities were situated. Although the site was very busy with it being the bank hol each field had a reasonable amount of tents in and were not too jammed in. All toilet and shower blocks were immaculate, it was 20p for a shower but the water was always hot! The shop on site was very well stocked and reasonably priced as was the restaurant and take-away food from the clubhouse, very tasty too!! We went into the clubhouse most evenings, bar was reasonably priced too and the entertainment for the kids was brilliant. Also, on the monday the site put on a family fun day free of charge for the Diamond Jubilee with a duck race, dog show, bouncy castle, tug of war, circus workshops and a bird of prey display which all the kids loved.... and the adults! Yes this site isn't the cheapest but its facilities and location makes it excellent value for money. We walked into Pooley Bridge along the lake which was lovely, we also walked to Howtown and got the steamer back as well as little walks down by the lake at the bottom of the site and on the fell which is just above the site. We read the bad reviews about this site prior to our stay at Park Foot but took them with a pinch of salt and realised when we got there that some people complain for the sake of complaining and also the bad reviews are now very dated. Would recommend this to any family or couple, we will definitely be returning!!

just come back from park foot campsite. Although the weather wasnt great, we had a fab time. The kids really enjoyed the adventure playgrounds, the clubhouse served good value, well presented tasty food. There is a lovely 10 min lakeside walk down to the village from the campsite where we caught the ullswater steamer to Glenridding. We then walked 3 1/2 hours grom Glenridding to Howtown beside the lake and caught the steamer from Howtown back to Pooley Bridge. I would recommend this scenic walk to keep the kids busy for the day. Back at Park Foot the facilities were kept immaculate where we were all ready for a hot shower (20p) and then up to the club for the childrens disco. cant wait to go back :)

we booked into the parkfoot campsite on the edge of ulswater lake pooley bridge, the views were fabulouse , we thought great, pitched the tent, and the campsite quickly filled up , the site said no same sex groups , this was not the case. we had read reviews and to be fair the reviews online were terrible. but we thought we'll give it a try anyway things can't really be as bad as that, some people just complain for complainings sake? the site was clean and had the shops on site were good. but the noise level was shocking for a so called family site, kids running round un supervised , the site at night time resembled a late 1980's rave. music blasting out of all the tents chavs fighting on site , my wife went for a shower first thing in the morning and to visit the shop for some milk, at the front of the shop a group of chavs were drinking cans of lager while f-ing and blinding at their kids never again will we go there again, next time i will book the national trust site half a mile down the road were next time i hope to get some sleep. ps need another holiday to get over this one ?????

Beautiful weather, nice location. Showers and toilets were okay. Good shop. Takeaway was ok but avoid the fish, it was pure batter. Worst nights sleeps i've ever had. The midnight to 8am noise curfews are a joke and every night i nearly came to fisty cuffs and never did i see anyone patrolling or policing this huge site. The last night went on until 4.30 am F'ing and blinding interupting hundreds of people including kids. Complaints made the following mornings and did they do anything about it? absolutely not!!! They just stated that they had spoke to them as theyhad more cars there than claimed and owed them additional money!! This site is just a huge money making site for the owners and they dont give a damn about the people who have to try and sleep there! Be prepared to be awoken at 6am.. Its taken me two days to get over the experience!! AVOID at all costs. GREED comes before your needs and peaceful campsite experience! £27.50 per night wasnt cheap either for three nights of hell!! You were warned!

My family and I have been to this campsite twice. After a nightmare first visit we decided to give it the benefit of doubt and try again. The facilities here are excellent showers, toilets, food, shop and lake access are all perfect. But there are always several same sex groups making loads of noise, despite the campsite stating they are not allowed to be there. On our second vist a group of lads kept every one awake until 4 o'clock playing music, driving their van (while drunk!!) and insulting people. They were removed by police the next day. We spoke to the "security" who stated "what can you do" during my total of five nights I have seen nothing except fighting, offensive behaviour and general drunken rowdyness (sp) I was even woken one night by the guy in the next tent who asked me accompany him to a group of lads to tell them to keep the noise down at 3 in the morning. A great campsite spoiled by the owners no caring about anything other than packing as many people in as they can and collecting money. A group of ten lads ?? No problem, squeeze in over there between the families.....

Through the day looks a nice site with plenty of room but wait until night time. Hoards of chavs drinking and swearing. No music after 11pm is a load of rubbish they don't enforce it. And purleeaasse -- bouncers and security guards on a camp site, need I say more. Absolutely awful, incidentally I went there years ago and it was lovely, such a shame.

We stayed at the campsite one night.- Although we were in the bottom field far away from the club house, we happened to be by a rowdy drunken group of mainly young men. There were even a couple of children with them, but we had to endure a couple of hours of terrible language and shouting till about 1 or 2 in the morning. I had expected that people who visit the lake district to be in to the outdoors and walking. What I learnt was never to go to a big campsite with a club house, and if it is necessary to have notices in the toilets about vandalism then there must be a problem. Such s shame, I dread to think what the residents of Pooley Bridge think of the campers.

we really enjoyed our stay.apart from it was noisy and expensive i would go back if it was priced by the tent not by how many are in the tent i thimk the maximum you should pay per night for a tent is 10 pound as you spend all your money on the site anyway when you have children horse riding ect shop pub ect might try it again depending what price they come up with this year ...

We found the Park Foot campsite the perfect site for us, as beginner(ish) campers. We pitched our tent in the lake site field which was quiet (it was later September), had great views of the lake and a small beck running through it. The main field looked very pleasant too. Staff where helpful, very well stocked on-site shop with food and camping kit, excellent and clean wash and shower facilities. We didn't try the club house but went to the local town (10 mins walk) for pub grub which was very nice. We would definitely go again so we can continue exploring the walks around the lake and its surrounding hills.

Big site with pros and cons... Pros: loads of fields, plenty of space to pitch (we arrived bank holiday monday afternoon for 2 nights); good facility blocks on the lower fields, 20p showers last 6 minutes, plenty of washup facilities and toilets, all very clean, and cleaners pratrol the fields picking up waste. Decently stocked shop onsite, "country club" (clubhouse)with restaurant, bar, pool and games (but nb see cons below!) plus takeaway food if you are so inclined. A couple of nice play areas for kids, plus some organised kids' activities onsite (which cost extra). Cons: Very noisy at night at the top of the site near the clubhouse (we were warned so pitched near the lake, which was fine); despite the "families only" policy (no single sex groups allowed) the clubhouse gets very rowdy and we heard several tales of fights, though didn't see any. This effectively makes the clubhouse area a no-go area in the evening for families. The site is also expensive to my way of looking at it - it cost our family of 5 with a single small tent £30 per night. Overall: so long as you don't mind paying through the nose, a nice site with good facilities so long as you avoid the clubhouse area.

we arrived at 11 o'clock Saturday morning and the reception staff was fantastic and pleasant. they explained to us were everything was and gave us a map. we was on the main field at the top on the hill and had plenty of space and excellent views. the toilets and showers were spotless and their was always someone in cleaning when i went in.the showers cost 20p and lasted for six minutes which was well long enough just remember to put your money in after you undress so you get your six minutes. the food in the restaurant was lovely and good value for your money. location was good and you could walk along the lake into pooley bridge which was nice were their are some good public houses were you could get something to eat. i will go back there because the children loved it on the park, the shop was well stocked up with everything you needed and good value too. there was no noise were we was and was able to sleep with no disturbance.

My family and I have just returned from a long weekend at Park Foot the site was compelety booked up for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay and my brother and i made loads of friends this park is brill for kids. The facilitys are good , the park is kept clean. The only disapointment was the nosie at night there was a lot of men drunk coming out from the club and there was fighting,we where looking forward to having a coke and playing pool at the 'country club' but it was more like a night club you couldn't beath for smoke and get to the bar for chavs, there was even boucers at the door !!this site is ok but i don't think we will return.

We had a terrible experience at this campsite recently. It is promoted as a family friendly campsite, but we were kept awake until 2.30am by noisy campers who were playing loud music and shouting. When we complained in the morning, we were told that the campers would lose their £10 'noise deposit', but this means that the campsite profits from noisy campers, and those who are disturbed are not compensated in any way. If you want a nice camping experience in the Lakes, please don't go here!

Just tried to book 2 nights camping here and they wouldn't allow it because we are female couple! Didn't think this kind of thing happened in the 21st century anymore! They actually hung up the phone on us too! Nice homophobic attitude displayed here!
