Thornley, Cleveland and Teesside
Review of Thornley by Gordon Galloway on January 13th, 2010
That monstrous pitheap and mine have disappeared,so too have the miners' cottages. The place is more attractive, the environment more salubrious, but a community is dead. What a shame.I hardly recognised the place last time I was there.Cars doing handbrake turns in Hartlepool Street didn't help.

Wow! Hard to believ the village where I was born and bred is still in existence let alone on the internet. Even the hotel where I did a lot of my catering and hotel training. I now have my own bar and restaurant in portugal.
