Review of Stoke-on-Trent by bryan brookes on June 20th, 2009
I am 78yrs old on 3rd July my father was. the rector of St. John's church Longton.I spent many of my younger days having a drink in "The Vine"off Wood Street. The people of Stoke on Trent i found had a sense of humour. I worked at Berryhill colliery in the surveying office after leaving school at St Josephs College trent vale. I remember the PMT utility buses during the war with wooden seats;steam trains echoing through the night over Longton bridge over shadowed by Harvey's chimney. I have so many memories that it wood take a book to fulfil them.....
