Largs is a small town situated on the coast approximately 1 hour from Glasgow. The town is the ideal tourist destination with the beautiful beaches and coastline views. There are many activities for everyone, including 2 golf courses and the excellent Vikingar! exhibition which was built to remember the 1263 viking battle that Largs is famous for. There is also the famous Nardini's cafe, and lots of hotels and guest houses offering a range of accommodation.
There is lots to to for children with putting, Kelburn Country Centre, swimming pool and play parks. And for adults there is always plenty of entertainment in the many pubs, and the theatre. Every year the town hosts 3 festivals - Jazz Festival in June, Brisbane Queen Festival in July and the famous Viking Festival in August/September. The town is within easy reach of Millport, which can be reached by a 10 minute ferry, and Millport hosts the annual Country and Western Festival. With good rail/road and bus links to Glasgow and surrounding areas Largs is easy to get to, and offers plenty of fun for all the family, especially when the sun is shining.
