Chris Hoy

Chris Hoy in his Lycra cycling gear recalls the Wodehouse quip – he looked like he’d been poured into his suit and forgot to say when: there are muscles on muscles in there, and legs like the back end of a mastodon. Created Sir Chris after his incredible three golds at the Beijing Olympics, Hoy has bravely chosen to continue his cycling career after surgery to an injured hip, remarkably winning three events at last week’s World Cup meeting in Manchester. At the age of 33 he keeps on going when an easier life must be tempting, for which we salute him, looking forward (we sincerely hope) to further gold medals at London 2012.
