Middleham, boasting four pubs and fine restaurants, is the centre of northern horse racing and a popular pastime here is watching the horses in training on beautiful Penn Hill. Hawes, with its Wensleydale Cheese Creamery and Dales Museum, Aysgarth Falls and swimming at Semerwater are a short drive. Leyburn's market is 3 miles. Shops and pubs 100 yards.
