The church where John Bunyan was once the minister is now known as the Bunyan Meeting Free Church. It occupies the site of the barn which the congregation purchased in 1672 and used as a place of worship. The present church is the second purpose-built church on the site and was erected in 1849. The church with its magnificent bronze entrance doors depicting scenes from 'The Pilgrim's Progress', and its 20th and 21st century stained glass windows, should be included in your visit.
The new purpose built Museum was opened in 1998. Visitors can now walk through the life and time of the famous preacher, pastor and author. They will be able to see artefacts associated with his life, and a modern display illustrating scenes from his most celebrated work 'The Pilgrim's Progress'.
