Guv'nor Matt Gott took over here June 2005. He is a trained chef, barman and cellarman, serves a reasonably-priced balanced menu featuring locally-sourced produce in friendly surroundings and is passionate about keeping and serving a variety of real ales in prime condition. A few rooms are available at a reasonable price and which are light and comfortable. It may seem a cliché, but this man really cares about getting it right.
