Born 1922 - Comedy writer and television presenter.

Began writing for troop shows during WW2. Met Frank Muir in 1947 and wrote the radio show Take It From Here. Other successful scripts included Whacko and Faces of Jim. Their writing partnership ended in 1964 but they appeared on a number of radio shows together including My Word! and My Music. Best known for his television shows It’ll Be Alright On The Night and Dennis Norden’s Laughter File.
