Born 1933 - English geneticist.

Studied at Oxford University. Best known for his pioneering research in nuclear transplantation and cloning. In1968 he transplanted a nucleus taken a frog gut into a fertilized egg and produced a normal tadpole. Elected FRS in 1971 and knighted in 1995.
