Born 1923. Died 2001 - Scottish novelist.
Began career as press secretary in Civil Service. Portrait painter exhibiting at Royal Academy. Used maiden Halliday to write series of detective novels. Best known works are historical romances which include Game of Kings (1961) and Checkmate (1975).
