Born 1799. Died 1883 - English engraver.


Worked influenced by the paganism of Greek myths. Produced a series of erotic woodcuts including The Ploughman and The Chamber Idyll. Also engraved on copper. Destroyed much of his work but examples remain in British Museum and Luxembourg.
