Born 1816. Died 1892 - Physician and ophthalmic surgeon.

At King’s College Hospital, London with Richard Todd researched and published Physiological Anatomy and Physiology of Man (1845-56). Discovered function of kidney, part of which is called Bowman’s Capsule.
