Born 1877. Died 1945 - English physicist and Nobel Prize winner.


He was educated at Malvern, Birmingham and Cambridge, before going on to invent the mass spectrograph in 1919 with which he investigated the isotopic structures of elements. This earned him the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1922. The Aston dark space, in electronic charges, is named after him.
