Born 1823. Died 1893 - Scottish photographer and publisher.


Son of a farmer. Trained as a painter in Edinburgh and London, worked as a miniaturist. Opened photographic portrait studio in 1855 in Aberdeen. Produced lantern slides, postcards and topographical books.
