The village of Sibson is to be found close to Nuneaton and on the border with Warwickshire and Leicestershire. This is a small village with a past association with a highwayman. On the main road is an attractive thatched building that dates back to the 13th century and it is rumoured that the most famous highwayman in the whole of England stayed here at the Cock Inn in the 18th century. In the centre of the village is the imposing 14th century church of St Botolph’s, although there is evidence that there as a church here in the 12th century, all set within a superb churchyard abounding with beautiful shrubs and trees. Today Sibson is a popular location with major roads all within easy reach including the M1 making it a favoured location for the commuter and visitor who is keen to explore this area of Warwickshire.
