See wildlife from across the world at Twycross Zoo, the centre for Education, Conservation and fun!

Within its 50 acres of parkland, the zoo houses nearly a 1000 anilmals, most of which are rare and endangered species. Its world famous primate collection ranges from the tiny Pygmy Marmosets(smallest of all the monkeys) to the huge Western Lowland Gorillas. Twycross is still the only UK zoo to house 'our closest living relative' - the Bonobo.

Beside the Apes and Monkeys Twycross is also home to a fascinating and varied range of other animals including Lions, Giraffes, Pythons, Crocodiles and Flamingos as well as strange oddities like the termite-eating Aardwolves of southern Africa. As a world renowned breedimg centre we are always proud of our youngsters which currently include two five year old Asian Elephants (only a handful have ever been successfully raised in UK zoos) as well as Bush Dog, Dhole and Woolly Monkey babies. Popular with visitors are our two charming young Orang utans 'Satu' and 'Tiga'.

New to the zoo are the rare and gaceful Mhorr Gazelle.

If you like a good splash, don't miss the Sealion, Penguin and Seal feeding times (mid-afternoon most days).

Throughout the summer holidays you can have an encounter of the animal kind at the 'Family Exhibition' in the Zoo Centre where trained zoo volunteers will answer your animal questions.

Popular with children are 'Pets Corner' (where zoo babies mix with farm animals) and the Children's Adventure Playground.

Self service cafeterias; a licensed bar; gift shops; picnic areas and car parking (with access to cars at all times) complete this day out.
