Events in Woolhope | 10 Places to Stay
Woolhope is a charming village, centred around a 12th century church, in the East of hilly Herefordshire, 7 miles from Hereford. Accommodation of all kinds can be found in the surrounding villages (such as The Green Man Inn at Fownhope) but Woolhope itself has 2 pubs ˆ The Butchers Arms serving food and The Crown Inn, also offering good food, local cider and a beer garden.
The main attraction here is the Woolhope Dome ˆ a conservation project (1 of 15 in the UK). It aims to bring about much biodiversity, increase wildlife and support the landscape. The Dome is 5000 hectares of hills, much of it wooded with hedgerows, wildflowers, streams and orchards, within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are plentiful walks in the area ˆ The Loop Walk of 6.5miles through orchards and fields to the Wye Valley walk of 136miles!
