Hertingfordbury is a small village on the River Mimram, with fewer than 250 inhabitants, in Hertfordshire. It is just off the A414, is just over a mile from Hertford and 26 miles out of London. This little quaint village is set in rolling countryside but with large towns offering entertainment in close proximity. Paradise Wildlife Park is 3 miles away. Brickendon Grange Golf Club is close by and green fee paying visitors are welcome on weekdays.
Cowper Primary School is sited where it has been since 1850, in a Victorian building that has been added to since the 1970s. The parish church of St Mary dates from the 13th century and reflects the historic origins of this conservation area. The White Horse (1 of 2 pubs) is a 16th century manor house, was a coaching inn and now has a brick Georgian façade and became a hotel in the 20th century set in extensive gardens, still offering accommodation today.
