Nature in Art is unique – it is the world’s only museum dedicated exclusively to art inspired by nature.

Within it you’ll find a truly diverse range of world-class art: displays embrace two and three-dimensional work in all mediums and styles ranging from Picasso to Shepherd. Spanning 1500 years, the collection contains work by 600 artists from over 50 countries. So typically, as well as a temporary exhibition, you’ll find watercolour landscapes, contemporary glass, the Flemish masters, modern abstract interpretations, bronze sculpture and even some exotic oriental treasures. With all this variety you’re sure to find many appealing creations and at least some rewarding ones too. Yet either way, you’ll certainly make plenty of discoveries.

Meet an artist at work!! Artists from across the world work at the museum during all opening hours between February and November. There is at least one different artist each week, so you may encounter painting, woodcarving, ceramic sculpting, printing, glass-working, textile art, mixed-media work or perhaps another art form. Feel free to talk with the artist whilst they demonstrate their skills.

With sculptures you can touch, various activities like brass-rubbing and an outdoor play area, we make sure that children aren’t left out. There’s also a tranquil sculpture garden to explore and, overlooking the garden, you’ll find a coffee shop where you can enjoy light meals and home-made cakes. We also provide free parking and a friendly welcome in our gift shop.

The museum offers a variety of short art courses and other events throughout the year, as well as children’s activity sessions during the summer holidays. Please ask for further details.
