Instantly impressive as you walk into the home of this former 19th century gentlemans house. 1 Park Road is the Les Routiers Bed and Breakfast of the year for the North, 2007 located in the heart of Windermere village. The guest's spacious but cosy lounge complete with grand piano, wonderful range of CDs, fresh flowers and some interesting caricatures- make it a wonderful place to sit and read in the evening whilst enjoying a glass of fine wine or beer. The six large bed rooms are modern and stylishly designed with French Art Nouveau pictures being a refreshing change to the traditional. All equipped with en suite facilities, CD and DVD players, IPod docking stations and proper coffee and fresh milk. The larger rooms have sofas to relax and large comfortable beds to sink into after enjoying dinner at the weekend using produce, cooked freshley and sourced locally. Breakfast are delicious feast combining locally sourced food such as home made marmalade free range eggs, award winning sausages, yogurts- and for the more healthy minded- Eggs Benedict, omelette Arnold Bennet or locally smoked kippers 1 Park Road is a great base for Windermere and the surrounding lakes and fells. We are only a few 5 minutes walk to the numerous pubs, restaurants and bistros, the train and bus stations and a 20 minute stroll to Bowness and the famous lake itself. We are in the heart of the action but are close to Ambleside, Grasmere and Lakeside, the perfect location to explore the South Lakes, the most beautiful corner of England. We have off-street parking although there is plenty of free parking on Park Road itself.
