Enjoy the thrill of travelling in a brakevan hauled by one of our working steam locomotives along a short section of the former Dalmellington Iron Company’s main railway line. View our extensive collection of steam and diesel locos and other items of rolling stock, including a static demonstration goods train. Visit our Museum which houses items of narrow gauge rolling stock, photographic displays and railway memorabilia, including a number of signal box nameboards. View our working model steam railway, and there is even a model railway for the children to play with. Our Shop has many items at pocket money prices, to suit our younger visitors. The Café serves teas, coffee, soft drinks and snacks all day during Steam Days. Bacon Butties are available for Early Birds between 11am and 12.30pm Free Car Park Disabled access to most of the Centre, including the brakevan trips SIRC is operated entirely by unpaid volunteer members of the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group, a charity registered in Scotland, No. SC 016127
