Once a Rowntree family home, Knavesmire Manor is a fine Georgian house built in 1833 and has accommodated many prominent figures from the 19th and 20th Centuries including Prime Minister Lloyd George.

The Manor, which retains many original features, commands uninterrupted views across the Knavesmire, now York's famous racecourse. It is, therefore, superbly placed for exploring this fine old city and the wonderful surrounding countryside.

The hotel is furnished with many antiques and is equipped with all the comforts you would expect of the more modern hotels today including a tropical indoor pool, sauna and spa.

There is a large car park and excellent cuisine is prepared in 'Restaurant 302' with a justifiably good local reputation.
