Quality coaching inn that Thomas Hardy called 'The Sow & Acorn' in 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'. Set in the picturesque village of Evershot, this lovely old stone-built Inn boasts worthy history. Log fires, beams, oak panelling and stone floors add to the ambience of this fine building. Nestling among the rolling hills in ' an area of outstanding beauty' and close to the British Heritage Coastline, you have the perfect base for exploring or walking.

Ten en-suite bedrooms are individually decorated and furnished. Comfortable beds with white linen - three four posters. Plasma screen televisions, telephones with modems, beverage-making facilities.

Only the best fresh local ingredients are used in the newly refurbished award-winning restaurant.

The skittle alley is also used for parties. Small Garden. Warm and friendly with efficient service. Vegetarians welcome.
