Attraction in St Helier
Built on an islet in St Aubin's Bay, Elizabeth Castle defended Jersey for more than 300 years. The castle today houses three permanent exhibitions in buildings around the Parade Ground; War and Peace, which tells the story of the garrison over 450 years, Granite and Gunpowder tracing the development of the cannon and the story of the Jersey Miitia. Time your visit to include the noonday "call to arms" by Gunner Gilman which is followed by the firing of the castle cannon, 11.45 am to 12.45 pm daily.
