Owned and loved by the Makepeace family for 35 years, Soar Mill Cove Hotel is a 4 Star independent hotel Located in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Set within 2,000 acres of unspoilt National Trust coastal countryside near the harbour towns of Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth and the attractive villages of Hope Cove and Thurlestone, perhaps Soar Mill Cove is one of the last truly unspoilt corners of the South Hams.

With spacious modern accommodation, sea view rooms and excellent facilities for all ages, the hotel makes a fantastic destination for families, couples, walkers and as a seaside venue for weddings, civil ceremonies and special celebrations.

The two rosette, award-winning restaurant is home to some rather fabulous food, with menus created by head chef, Ian MacDonald. From Salcombe crab and Start Bay scallops to Gressingham duckling and herbs from the kitchen garden, we ensure that our food reflects the best seasonal, local produce
