An award winning 18th century coaching inn located on the middle green in one of England's prettiest villages.

The inn has 12 bedrooms, all individually designed and with luxury bathrooms. Two of the rooms have private sitting room and five Courtyard rooms are located at the rear of the hotel. Dinner is served each evening in the oak panelled restaurant and lunches and suppers are served in the bar.

The area abounds with fabulous walking, birdwatching, fishing and shooting and is an ideal base for Herriott country, the internationally renowned Bowes museum, Raby Castle and the ancient city of Durham.
