Relax and refresh at Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa

For a relaxing break in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, Hand Picked Hotels’ exclusive Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa, with its luxurious new spa and health club, is perfectly positioned to enjoy the beauty of Cheshire and the north-west of England.

This magnificent Georgian mansion is set in 38 acres of gardens, wooded parkland and a meadow bordered by the River Weaver. Formerly the residence of plantation owner, William Hilton Cooke, the property dates back to 1816. Now 70 bedroom Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa is part of the Hand Picked Hotels collection of stylish country house hotels.

The hotel has recently undergone a £10 million renovation, with the addition of a conference and banqueting facility and a brand new health club and spa. The spa offers a crystal steam room, 7 treatment rooms, one of which is a double treatment room, a Rasul mud treatment room, two relaxation areas and an 18 metre glass roofed swimming pool. Using only Clarins and ESPA products, the spa offers a wide array of indulgent treatments. Within the health club, guests can take advantage of exercise classes including spinning, yoga and Ai Chi, a fully equipped gym and a hydrotherapy pool with 12 individual massage stations.

The award-winning hotel restaurant is 2 AA rossette and has Head Chef, Gordon Campbell at the helm. Previously at L'Escargot in London and The Vineyard at Stocks Cross, Campbell presents seasonal and locally sourced classical cuisine to tantalise the taste buds. Diners have the choice of either an A La Carte and Table d’Hote menus for dinner or a simple lunchtime ‘market menu’. For a traditional English afternoon tea, relax in the drawing room, with a sumptuous array of tea, sandwiches, cakes and pastries.

The hotel is only ten minutes away from Nantwich, a local market town that is perfect for food lovers. With its Roman history, wonderful Tudor and Georgian architecture, cosy English pubs and farmers markets, Nantwich is perfect for those wanting to discover the gourmet delights of Cheshire. The town has plenty of excellent specialist food shops, serving a wide range of local produce offering organic sausages, fine meats, cheeses, pastries and breads.
