Norwich Puppet Theatre is one of only two dedicated puppet theatres in England and is housed in the converted medieval church of St James Pockthorpe, ten minutes walk from the Cathedral and 5 minutes from Anglia Square.

We have a year round programme of puppetry performances and puppet making workshops - mainly for children but with special adult sessions - which, together with a collection of over 200 puppets in the foyer, provide a unique experience during a visit to Norwich.

During 2005 the Theatre marks its 25th Anniversary with events including a week long Celebration of International Puppetry in October - with performances from Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Argentinean and Indian companies - and a visit by Theater Taptoe of Belgium with their internationally acclaimed production of Scrooge for the Christmas season.

As well as performing at the home base, the Norwich Puppet Theatre company tours productions - such as Pinocchio, Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk, Thumbelina and The Selfish Giant - into schools and venues throughout the UK, and often travels overseas - with tours to Spain, Majorca, Portugal and Mexico scheduled for 2005/6.
