If you want a good free entertaining day out for all the family then Porthleven Lifeboat day provides kust that. The Penlee lifeboat crew will bring the Severn up close and the RIBs will give you a really good display. There is always an exercise off the beach where RNAS Search and Recue's 771 Squadron will work in unison with the lifeboat crew. The diver normally gets dunked whilst lifting one of the crew out of the sea and placing him on the deck of the lifeboat. You can even experience a fun launch in Dash but be prepared to get a little damp. Plenty to do and see. Plenty of good food and ale for those who prefer a little refreshment. Erll worth a day out
