what a pleasent suprise to come across this pub.a lovely village pub no flash decor,no blasting music.owned by a couple from south shields(just outside of newcastle im told)the landlord is halarious joke after joke, funny stories, should be on the telly.his wife is very charming, she even fed and watered the dog.the kids were given toys to play with.no resteraunt food here just simple home cooked food from a small menu, and it was well priced all done from scratch with homemade chibs by the landlord.beer top notch and under 3 pound a pint.other pub in village didnt seem very welcoming at all.the henry jenkins for me.what a pleasent afternoon.

Absolute treasure of a place - wonderful building and great ale and food. Extremely good value for money but what makes the place outstanding is the landlord and landlady - brilliant people extremely friendly, welcoming and a real home from home.
Would highly recommend to anyone - we live quite a distance away and just happened to find the place - but would definately travel to go back.

A most pleasing experience! Lunch and a chat with the owners, who have only been there for 5 weeks and are feeling their way. They deserve every support. The food was first-rate, the coffee excellent, and we were told they are open everyday for lunch, unlike the other pub in the village (no lunch on a Friday - good God!). Black Sheep and Timothy Taylors on tap.

What a great Pub, large dinning area, open fires, games room for the kids and outside beer garden. The pub has now shut and needs a landlord or Landlady to bring it back to its former glory..

Under new ownership.
This Inn is the very best in Yorkshire for beer and good food cooked by the landlord.
His wife looks after the bar and she is the most pleasant lady I have ever met.
