We have been to The White Lion on several occasions and have always enjoyed ourselves. It's especially nice this time of the year with the wood burners and the candles. Landlord is very friendly and wines are served in large glasses. There is a set menu but always daily specials, which are quite unusual, homemade soups and bread are delicious. Looking forward to their Wine & Foodtasting evening on 1 Dec 2011.

She made my family and I feel very unwelcome and rushed to finish simply because I brought my (well-behaved) children inside to eat with us. The food was adequate, not great but not terrible, definitely not something I would pay that amount for again. What a shame such a lovely pub has been turned into a place I'll be sure to never set foot in again! Unless you are a quiet adult with no pets or children looking for an average-tasting meal, please take your family somewhere else!

First time for a long time. Ordered a steak, well done, (BTB)£14.99! Allegedly hung 10days. It was served rare. So tough I gave up. Took chewed bits and the uneaten piece for the dog. He ate it, but with difficulty.

Went to the White Lion for lunch, sat in sunny garden by ourselves for some reason. However pub and food very good and would go again. Changing blackboard menu started with £4.95 soup and went up - including ploughmans at £7.95 which might be a bit steep for some. Shepherd Neame ales kept well, and friendly staff.
