Good Points: It is a beautiful building in a lovely peaceful village setting. Bad Points: The hotel is a little dated and becoming shabby. The room we had smelled of smoke even though it was non smoking. The room was very small and in need of an update. The price of dinner was incredibly high, more than many London prices. The menu was varied but the food was not of particularly good quality. General Review: I remember this hotel from many years ago and I am sorry to see that it has become a little in need of some renovation. I would still rather stay in a place like this than a large impersonal chain type hotel but it really does need to be updated if I were to consider staying there again. Maybe other rooms are better but.... The staff are very pleasant and hard working but they have to cover too many jobs and therefore we experienced long waits.
