My wife and I recently dined at the Old Rectory Inn. We were both very impressed with the quality of the food in which we were served. By far the best meal we've had for many years in Kirkcaldy. The standard of service was excellent and the waiting staff made us feel very welcome. We were given gift vouchers for a £12 meal and we will be certainly paying the Old Rectory Inn another visit soon. Paul Cunningham

I was travelling through from Glasgow to St Andrews with my wife and two friends for her 50th birthday, and some locals recommended this restaurant. We decided against the a la carte, and went with their special offer of two courses plus a glass of wine for £12. At the price, we weren't expecting a great deal, but were pleasantly surprised. The food was of a good standard and the service was friendly, with a very relaxed atmosphere. My only (minor)complaint might be that the log fire took a bit of time to get going on a very cold night, but the room quickly warmed up. Overall, it was good value for money, and we'll definitely be back to try the a la carte.

The Rectory used to be by far the best Restruant in Kirkcaldy but sadly it has gone downhill over the past few years. We recently went for an evening meal and were very disapointed with the quality of service and the food yet they still charge over the top for what is a second class service.

VERY PLEASANT AND MANNERLY STAFF, THE NEW OWNERS ARE VERY PLEASANT SINCE THEY HAVE TAKEN OVER THE FOOD, DRINKS, RECEPTION ON ENTERING AND CHARM OF THE RESTARAUNT HAS NOT WENT DOWN HILL ONE LITTLE BIT. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.

There was a full house when we arrived, but the greeeting was as friendly and personal as ever. These people do care about their customers. The food was a mixture of traditional dishes well presented and beautifully cooked, plus there were innovative touches to the menu. This is our fourth or fifth visit but first time on our own - usually we are with family or friends, and paying the bill for the two of us I was pleasantly surprised that for the excellent quality we received, the bill was very reasonable.
