My husband and I have eaten at the Three Horseshoes several times, but I'm afraid that tonight is the last meal we endure. The service varies greatly. Sometimes it is good and sometimes it is just abysmal. The food tends to vary dramatically as well. Also, it is trying to be more than it is, dressing up a tough steak with some beautiful vegetables covered by an indescribable vegetable mush which, because of its appearance, makes the diner skip the vegetables altogether. I wish it was a better restaurant given its proximity to my home, but I will continue to drive much longer distances for considerably better food.

We have eaten here three or four times this year. Although not the cheapest pub food in England the standard of cooking is extremely high. There is a distinct Italian influence on the menu. They have an excellent wine list and the service is prompt, efficent and friendly. All you could ask for from an English country pub although more a restaurant than a drinking establishment.
