Went to a wedding breakfast and evening reception, the hotel seemed to struggle to accomodate numbers their were not enough bar staff on, or waiting staff for the meal, tables were served food in stages, waiting far too long for veg, however the food that was served was absoulutely fantastic, a bread roll being asked for seemed just a task too far and was moaned about even though 10 people hadnt turned up to the meal, so there surely would have been a surplice of these!!, the toilets flooded later on in the evening, the bar area stank of wet dog and everyone commented on this, the hotel surely must be aware of the smell!!! and to add insult to injury an evening buffet with no napkins anywhere in the hotel!!!!yet the buffet food and barbecue was superb!!!! as we are having our reception there next year im now quite worried as it is a massive amount of money for such poor service and never any where near value for money.

Good Points: The staff were friendly and efficient in their service. The location was lovely and it was peaceful. The breakfast was good quality and staff went out of their way to be accommodating. Bad Points: The room was uncomfortably hot during the night despite having windows open. The decor needed sprucing up in the bedroom and en-suite. The evening meal was overpriced and disappointing, though the waiting staff couldn't have been nicer. General review: Overall the hotel provided the essentials for an overnight stay and the staff were faultless in their service. It was disappointing that the room and en-suite were a little shabby, and the television had limited channels, but the overall feel of the hotel was welcoming and comfortable.

Potentially could have been a lovely visit. The setting, hotel size, buildings, rooms etc were all very nice. We had planned this one night since the same time last year so were looking forward to a bit of pampering and some good food. Sadly the service from the start was poor; the hotel seemed understaffed and the food was dreadful for the price! The waitresses were very good and helpful but were the ones who had to deliver the bland, badly cooked food. Breakfast, the cereal, juice etc were fine but the scrambled egg was grey, tinned tomatoes, and bacon that was so hard (not in a lovely crispy way) that the fork would not go into it. Much of the toast was burnt. You need to get your act together; six of us (120 for dinner) and it was abysmal.

The hotel itself could do with some redecorating- furniture in lounge areas shabby, and paint chipping in rooms. The courtyard was beautiful though, loverly seating area with the gas heaters for those chillier evenings. What made my stay so special though was the staff- I stay in hotels all the time and am usually identified by being room 102 or soemthing like that but all staff called me by my name, at dinner a young girl (couldnt be no more the 19) named Rebecca was so friendly took an interest and a young south african gentleman at breakfast continued this fantastic service! I shall be staying again!
