What a difference a decade can make in the life of a pub.In the late 90's approx 20 members of my family stayed here over a week in early summer, and we all came away having had a great time, wonderful food & drink, and nice accomodation. Today the menu is very limited basic pub fayre, with strangely more "specials" than anything else. One of these was the pan fried thai fishcakes. These were completely inedible, quite simply the worst food we have been served anywhere!

Stayed here one night - glad it was not more. The room was freezing cold and the bed uncomfortable. The TV was too small and really old fashioned and the shower had not been cleaned properly - the previous occupants had left helf empty mini bottles of shampoo on the shower ledge and these were still here (not to mention the black mould around the shower tray). The hot water was only tepid, but this did not matter as it was too cold to get undressed anyway! The whole B&B thing was awful - the cheapest ingredients possible. It was good that they served evening meals as location was too far to go elsewhere. The meals was OK to good, but expensive. Service (for this read pushing the drink sales up) was also good.
